This lake is located in Tioga County, Pa.. It is 17 miles south of Corning, NY and 16 miles north of Mansfield,
Pa.. Cowanesque Lake provides the angler
with an abundant amount of cover and structure for bass. The lake
yields catches between 2 and 3 lbs with some over 5 lbs. Smallmouth and largemouth bass are
found in this lake.
I divide the lake into 2 separate parts: the west end and the east end. The west end has a large array of standing
timber and stump fields. This
area is marked off as a no wake zone. The east end offers many points, flats, bluffs,
and coves. The east end is fairly deep and clear compared to the west end,
but both offer the angler with numerous
areas to fish. In the spring, Cowanesque Lake offers the angler opportunities to catch bonus fish like the musky.
